Responsibilities:

  • Lead the specification, integration, and commissioning of vision inspection systems for automated production lines.

  • Develop vision application software, including algorithms for pattern recognition, OCR/OCV, defect detection, and measurement.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (automation engineers, validation, QA, production, and suppliers) to define requirements and deliver solutions.

  • Conduct system testing, debugging, optimisation, and performance validation in laboratory and production environments.

  • Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) activities with internal teams and external vendors.

  • Prepare technical documentation, including functional specifications, user requirements, and validation deliverables (IQ/OQ/PQ).

  • Troubleshoot vision hardware and software issues to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement activities.

  • Ensure vision systems are compliant with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11 where applicable, and site quality standards.

  • Provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance teams.

  • Participate in CAPA and RCA activities to address recurring inspection or performance issues.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering (electrical, automation, mechatronics, computer science) or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience in design and implementation of industrial machine vision systems.

  • Hands-on experience with vision tools such as Cognex, Antares, Keyence, NI Vision, Halcon, or equivalent platforms.

  • Proficiency in vision programming and scripting (e.g. Python, C++, Vision libraries).

  • Strong understanding of lighting, optics, image acquisition, and camera selection.

  • Experience with PLCs, industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet), and HMI integration.

  • Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (GAMP5, GMP, risk management) desirable.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
