The Role:
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the full lifecycle of specialised process equipment projects, from concept design and specification through to procurement, build, FAT, and qualification. The role requires strong technical knowledge combined with excellent project management skills and the ability to engage directly with clients and stakeholders.
Projects may include customised process systems supporting biologics manufacturing, purification, fill/finish, and other advanced therapies.
Responsibilities:
Lead multiple engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, and risk registers.
Coordinate activities across engineering, automation, quality, and manufacturing teams.
Manage vendor selection, procurement, and contract negotiations for equipment and services.
Oversee FAT, SAT, IQ, and OQ, ensuring compliance with GMP, CE marking, and other relevant regulations.
Act as the primary client contact, maintaining strong communication and stakeholder alignment.
Report on project progress, risks, and financials to senior leadership and project sponsors.
Drive continuous improvement in project execution methodologies and documentation standards.
Mentor and guide junior project engineers and project coordinators.
Support business development by contributing technical input to proposals and tenders where required.
Requirements:
Degree in Process, Chemical, Biotechnology, or related Engineering discipline.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, ideally with exposure to process equipment or advanced manufacturing technologies.
Strong track record in project management, leading large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Knowledge of automation, process equipment design, or single-use technologies advantageous.
