Catalyx is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join our team and work on our customer site in Co. Kilkenny.

The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing control systems: This involves working collaboratively with design engineers to develop and implement systems.

  • Managing operations: Oversee the operation of the control systems and machinery. They should also be able to identify and respond to system and process anomalies and errors.

  • Testing: The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for system testing and debugging control systems to ensure they are functioning properly.

  • Project management: They will oversee projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Compliance and Safety: Ensuring all work complies with relevant codes and regulations. They should also prioritize safety and be able to develop safe operating procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).

  • Proven experience as a Controls Engineer or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of control theory and control systems.

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in PLC programming and automation systems.

  • Strong understanding of control theory and control systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and team management skills.

Work Experience:

A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role is typically required for this position. Experience in the industry of the company will be a plus.
