Catalyx are seeking a Production Operative to join our team in Longford. The Operative will support the manufacturing, assembly, and quality control of modular and prefabricated building components used in offsite production. This role requires individuals who can follow instructions accurately, work safely, and operate effectively within a structured, process-driven environment.

Experience in a factory or construction setting is desired but not essential — full training will be provided to candidates who are reliable, eager to learn, and committed to high standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete assembly and manufacturing duties as assigned, following detailed work instructions and established procedures.

  • Comply with all health and safety requirements, including PPE and safe working practices.

  • Safely operate tools and equipment once the appropriate training has been completed.

  • Assist with the cutting, shaping, and handling of materials as required.

  • Carry out routine quality inspections to ensure consistent production standards are maintained.

  • Safely transport materials and finished products throughout the factory.

  • Assist with the loading and unloading of deliveries when required.

  • Store materials safely in line with internal procedures and processes.

  • Promptly report any hazards, unsafe practices, or process deviations.

  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily production targets.

  • Follow production schedules and work instructions accurately.

  • Identify and suggest improvements to support workflow and operational efficiency.

  • Keep tools, equipment, and workstations clean, organised, and in good working condition.

  • Perform basic cleaning and routine maintenance of machinery following appropriate training.

  • Dispose of waste materials in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

  •  Undertake any other duties as reasonably required.

Requirements:

  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or similar work is desired but not essential.

  • Basic knowledge of safe working practices is beneficial, but full training will be provided.

  • Ability to follow instructions and established processes consistently.

  • Willingness to learn new skills across a range of production tasks.

  • Strong attention to safety and quality.

  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to doing work to a high standard.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.

  • Forklift or machinery experience is an advantage but not required.
