We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the transactional finance activities for our US operations. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity of our financial processes, implementing robust internal controls, and supporting our long-term ERP strategy. The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified CPA with strong financial acumen and experience in tax compliance, who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a passion for process improvement and systems implementation.
Reports to: Financial Controller
Responsibilities:
Transactional Finance Oversight: Manage day-to-day transactional finance activities for two US operating companies, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash Management, and related financial operations.
Monitor cash requirements for US companies, ensuring correct funding across US bank accounts.
People management: Lead, manage and provide support to other members of the finance team.
Process and Control Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial processes and internal controls to ensure good corporate governance and segregation of duties across AP, AR, and Cash functions.
Month & Year End Close: Support month-end and year-end financial close processes for projects, including revenue recognition, work-in-progress and deferred revenue, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data, with a focus on financial accounting.
Systems Implementation: Lead the implementation of financial systems and tools to support transactional finance activities, laying the groundwork for the future ERP system across the group.
Short-term Projects: Oversee and execute short-term finance projects, including the implementation of a consolidated Purchase Order (PO) system, expense management systems, consolidation of NA payroll and bank payment file processes.
Tax Compliance: Provide expertise in US tax compliance, working closely with external tax advisors and legal counsel to ensure all tax obligations are met. Liaise with Europe Finance team within Catalyx on all regulatory and tax matters to ensure alignment of responses.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Leverage financial data to provide actionable insights, quickly deciphering information to inform management decisions and proactively addressing operational issues.
Operational Finance: Provide financial guidance and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, including project cost analysis, risk management, and business case development.
Analyze the cost base within group companies, understanding the cost drivers and working with Departments Managers to propose and implement cost saving initiatives
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, operations, and HR teams to support business objectives and drive financial performance.
Requirements:
· CPA with 7-10 years of progressive experience within Finance.
· 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on transactional finance, process improvement, and systems implementation.
· Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Technical Accounting skills.
· Strong financial analytics skills.
· Experience in tax compliance within the US, preferably with multi-state operations.
· Proven track record of implementing financial controls and processes.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI and experience with financial systems such as ERP or project management software.
